That said were not afraid to be directive to achieve your group photos. doing this in record time to allow you to get back to the action, and for those portraits that you want to hand on the wall, take pride of place on your side table or mark the best day as a social media profile pic we work with you to understand howling you want for those images and what you're comfortable with.
Family business
We're proud to be a family fun business. LUX Wedding Photography is made up of 3 photographers Richard, Courtney and Natali. Richard and Courtney a father and daughter team run LUX Wedding Photography. We also have 2 sister companies LUX Videography owned and run by Ash (daughter to Richard and Tracey) and LUX Photo Booths run by Tracey (Richard's Wife and proud mum of Courtney and Ash)
Not a photo shoot
It's not a photo shoot! It's a wedding, a celebration of your love for each other and a day to spend with your loved ones. Our role is to capture your wedding day and whilst we will need to steal you away from your guests for some photos we always work with you to use what time you're comfortable with and get you back to the celebrations as quickly as we can.
You'll be amazed at what we capture and how we document the day with out impacting the celebrations.

We've worked all over the UK and have had the pleasure of shooting at some amazing locations, based in Durham we're regulars are The South Causey Inn, Beamish Hall, Horton Grange, Shotton Grange, Doxford Hall, Healey Barn, The Baltic and Dalton Old Pump House to mention only a few.
Because we don't limit ourselves to local venues we've had the opportunity to shoot at venues like The Lawn Essex, Coltsfoot Stevenage, Fanhams Hall Ware and Glenskirlie Castle Stirlingshire
Wether its a Barn Wedding, castle wedding hotel, registry office or farm wedding we've shot them all and know exactly how to get the best photos from your day - You're in safe hands
Its our passion
We truly love what we do, every single wedding is a passion project for us, I can name every couple, every wedding, every venue and I can tell you every aspect of the day ... each wedding means so much to us and its a honour to be a small part of your day.
Would give 10 out of 5 if we could. We booked the Lux team and from day one the communication was absolutely outstanding, even down the payment policy where you can just pay as and when you like via PayPal suited us brilliantly. Richard and the team are absolutely sensational at what they do, like little ninjas who managed to capture every moment perfectly. To say we are happy with our LUX experience is an understatement, towards the wedding date Richard was one of my top whatsapp contacts and he is so wholesome yet professional which is such a perfect balance. One of my favourite memories of our wedding day is my rather drunk husband having a spontaneous business meeting with Richard, groom with whiskey in hand about how he could be charging double his prices in which Richard responded "I don't because I just love what I do" and you can feel that in his work. Value for money is beyond words, we had 2 photographers, Ash the LUX videographer who also made us some amazing content reels, arcade game, photobooth, cold spark fountains (highly recommend) and guest telephone (all from Lux) all for the same price as what we were quoted for one photographer from another supplier. That's us, we love photography and weddings, every wedding is so special to us, each one is a real passion project.
we aim to make your day extra special we're there to take photos and capture the day but we'll also keep you on time, help make sure you're where you need to be, be there to hold the bouquet and get you a drink, we'll have a hanky to hand and even carry a sewing kit just in case. Our style is photojournalistic or candid and we interlace these images documenting your day with stunning portraiture. Your wedding day is just that ... your wedding day, so we try to blend in as much as possible and are never a distraction our job is done when we get every image needed whilst going relatively un-noticed.
