 A bit about me

I’m proud to say that I was born and raised in Newcastle, but for the past 12 years, I’ve called the beautiful area of Durham my home. My life is filled with joy, thanks to my wonderful wife, Tracey, who runs the fantastic website www.luxphotobooths.co.uk—shameless plug included! Together, we’ve raised three incredible children, all of whom are now adults: Courtney, Benn, and Ashleigh. Our family also includes two energetic dogs, Marshall the Labrador and Cooper the Cockerpoo who keep life interesting. My journey into photography began as a simple hobby while I was working in a job that didn’t quite fulfill me. What started as a pastime quickly blossomed into a passion that I honed into a fine-tuned skill, eventually leading to work. Faced with the decision to either continue in a career I was unhappy with or pursue my newfound love for photography full-time, the choice was quite clear. Over the years, LUX has grown beyond my wildest dreams, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have my two daughters as part of the team—Courtney as one of our talented photographers and Ashleigh as a skilled videographer. As our kids have grown up and moved out, I cherish the time I get to spend with them, both socially and professionally. Being able to work alongside my family while capturing beautiful moments for others is truly a gift

Q&A

Favourite venue:

Alexander Weddings the tipi by lake Henry, I have so many favourites but Lake Henry does top the bill, from the onsite wedding village to the stunning venue itself, its a photographers dream venue with stunning backdrop after backdrop. all this made even more wonderful by the first class 5 star wedding team who are so so attentive to both the couple, guests and suppliers. If you've yet to book a venue schedule a viewing you won't be disappointed.

Most memorable wedding moment:

2024 gave us so many great weddings, 1 in particular was an amazing day spent with Madison and Adrian at Spartford House in Somerset. it was to be frank a hot day and in an old Manor House that lacked air conditioning we felt it as did all of the guests, we often stay late to capture those special moments and this day was no different when at 2:30am the wedding party cooled off with everyone diving fully clothed into the swimming pool ... all captured of course in photographs

What do you love about the wedding industry:

Capturing one of the happiest days of people's lives is truly an honor. I take pride in telling the unique love stories of each couple through my photographs. I often envision my couples, years down the line, sharing their wedding photos with friends, family, and even their children, knowing that my work will bring them joy for generations to come

 A bit about me

I’m from the amazing city of Newcastle where I was born and raised. Although I have travelled all over the UK I am grateful to still call Newcastle my home. Not only am I doing my dream job I also get to do it with my family. My dad an amazing photographer who created this business, my mam who created Lux PhotoBooth and my sister who is our amazing videographer. Working with my family has been amazing from spending more time with them to seeing them create magic with what they do. The thing I am most proud of is watching my little sister go from a crazy high school girl to a skilled and creative videographer. I have also met my incredible fiancee through this journey along with our two wild and loving cats. My journey as a photographer started at a very young age as I have spent my whole life doing art from finger painting at 5 years old to fine art and design at 17 years old. I am now at 23 years old and extremely lucky to be able turn my creativity into a full time job, as a wedding photographer. This job has introduced me to a lot of amazing people from the couples I meet to the vendors I work with. I also had the pleasure to meet and work with Ross who is an amazing photographer and videographer, who gradually became part of the team. I appreciate everyday as a wedding photographer and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Q&A

Favourite venue:

The Willows at The Woodsman has to be my top venue. I could recommend loads of incredible venues all over the UK and this decision was definitely a difficult one. However, The Willows has made it to the top of my list for many reasons. This wedding venue is located in the country side of Whickham and is quite hidden away. The venue its self is beautiful with stunning decor inside from the large windows overlooking the farmers fields especially at sunset to the chandeliers covered in greenery. The staff and managers are lovely and go out there way to help the bride, groom, guests and even suppliers. If you haven’t yet booked a venue then I would highly recommend booking a viewing at The Willows.

Most memorable wedding moment:

I have many memorable moments as a photographer so it was incredibly hard to decide on just one. The one I have chosen is definitely the funniest memory for me. It was an amazing and photogenic couple Georgia and John’s wedding at Channels Estate. They had a beautiful wedding using the outdoor area for the ceremony and photos after. After a few drinks they decided to do some funny photos with the groomsmen and partners, which turned out to be the most iconic and funniest photo I have ever taken. The moment is definitely one I won’t forget and that wedding will forever stand out to me!

What do you love about the wedding industry:

Being apart of one of the biggest and happiest days of  peoples lives is amazing in itself but being able to capture those memories for the couple to show there children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren is truly amazing. I love capturing wedding days like it’s a fairytale and I take pride in being able to show the story of the day from start to finish.

 A bit about me

I love my job. I’ve loved photography for years and i still kick myself for not pursuing it as a career earlier. I kind of stumbled into photography by accident. After failing my first year at 6th form trying to do Computer Science, Engineering or Maths, i decided to take a more untraditional path. I was between studying music and photography, but since i had terrible stage fright at the time, it wasn’t a difficult decision that lead me into 5 years of education studying to become a photographer. During that time, i experimented a lot, shooting product photography, portraiture, commercial work and i particularly enjoyed landscape photography and spent a lot of my free time traveling the county seeing some amazing sights. However, with about a year of university to go, i photographed my first wedding, loved every minute of it and I haven’t looked back since.

I started my own part-time business shooting weddings, but was always too hesitant to take it full time, not wanting to loose the stability of my Hospitality job that was slowly eating away at my soul. i was incredibly luckily to meet Richard and the team at LUX and they invited me to join the company, giving me the confidence to take this full time, and it’s been amazing.

When i’m not taking photos, you’ll find me Reading, building Lego, playing a board game or out enjoying the little sun we get in the UK. I love being able to bring real value to amazing couples and i can't wait to do this for a really long time.

Q&A

Favourite venue:

Fletchers farm in Great Ayton currently takes the cake for me. It's not a big grand wedding venue or hotel, it's a working farm with a rustic feel and an intimate vibe. They have a woodland for nature inspired Ceremonies, a lake for stunning couple portraiture and a barn for you to dance the night away. It's the exact mix of Landscape and wedding photography that i thrive on.

Most memorable wedding moment:

i'm going to cheat a little bit here and talk about an Engagement Shoot that i did with an amazing couple last year. We did a Sunset shoot at Beadnell Bay in Northumberland and everything just came together. Golden Beach, amazing sunset, fantastic couple and getting in the sea while the sun set to get some of my favourite images of the year was just the cherry on top.

What do you love about the wedding industry:

Frankly, it's just fun. I don't think there is any other industry in the world where so many creative people from different backgrounds get together with one singular goal in mind: to make a couples dream day come to life. i've met some amazing couples along the way and as with most things in life, it's the people the difference. â€‹
