On the 6th of October, we had the absolute pleasure of photographing Georgia and Dale’s beautiful autumn wedding, a day filled with elegance, laughter, heartfelt moments, and artistic creativity. As a North East wedding photographer, days like this are exactly why we love what we do. From a touching ceremony in the Reading Room in Eshott village to a celebration full of personality and love at Eshott Hall, this wedding was a perfect reflection of the couple themselves.
Eshott Hall, even as it prepares for an exciting full refurbishment, remains one of the most charming and character-filled wedding venues in the North East. Georgia and Dale made incredible use of its timeless interiors, sweeping grounds, and warm atmosphere, creating a wedding day that felt both intimate and luxurious.

A Crisp October Morning in Northumberland
October weddings in Northumberland have a magic all of their own. The air feels fresh, the light is soft and flattering, and the colours of the season add a natural elegance that simply can’t be replicated at any other time of year. Georgia and Dale’s wedding day began with exactly that feeling – calm, excitement, and the sense that something truly special was about to unfold.
As a North East wedding photographer, we’re always conscious of how the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. Georgia’s preparations were relaxed and joyful, filled with laughter, quiet anticipation, and those lovely in-between moments that often become some of the most meaningful photographs. Soft autumn light poured through the windows, giving us the perfect backdrop for natural, candid imagery.

A Heartfelt Ceremony in the Reading Room, Eshott Village
Georgia and Dale chose to be married in the Reading Room in Eshott village, a beautifully intimate and characterful space that was perfect for their ceremony. The setting felt personal and warm, allowing their vows and emotions to truly take centre stage.
The ceremony was filled with genuine moments of love and laughter. From emotional glances exchanged between Georgia and Dale to the smiles and tears from family and friends, it was one of those ceremonies where you could feel the connection in the room. As photographers, these are the moments we’re always watching for – the unscripted reactions, the squeezes of hands, the quiet smiles that happen when no one thinks anyone is looking.
The Reading Room’s charm worked beautifully for photography, offering a cosy, timeless feel that complemented the elegance of the day.

Celebrations Begin at Eshott Hall
After the ceremony, the celebrations moved to Eshott Hall, a venue that continues to stand out as one of Northumberland’s most iconic wedding locations. Even though Eshott Hall is currently closed for a full refurbishment, it was stunning on Georgia and Dale’s wedding day – and we genuinely can’t wait to see how it’s improved when it reopens.
The grounds and interiors of Eshott Hall offered a perfect blend of grandeur and warmth. The building’s historic charm, paired with its surrounding countryside, made it an exceptional backdrop for relaxed group photos, romantic couple portraits, and candid moments throughout the day.
Guests were welcomed with drinks, laughter, and a real sense of celebration. Georgia and Dale had created a day that felt effortless yet thoughtfully planned, where everyone felt included and relaxed.

A Very Special Guest: Bow Tie the Dog 🐾
One of the highlights of the day – and an instant favourite for both guests and photographers – was Georgia and Dale’s dog complete with a Bow Tie dressed impeccably for the occasion, it brought an extra layer of personality and joy to the day.
Including pets in weddings always adds something special, this was no exception. From greeting guests to appearing in photographs, he was clearly part of the family and completely at home in the celebrations. These moments not only made for adorable images but also reflected Georgia and Dale’s love for the important members of their life.

Elegant Details and Thoughtful Styling
Georgia and Dale’s wedding style was the perfect balance of elegance and warmth. Thoughtful details were everywhere, from the carefully chosen décor to the subtle autumnal colour palette that complemented Eshott Hall’s interiors beautifully.
As a North East wedding photographer, we’re always paying attention to these details. They help tell the full story of the day and are often what couples love looking back on years later. The textures, florals, table settings, and personal touches all came together seamlessly, enhancing the overall atmosphere without ever feeling overdone.

Laughter, Love, and an Unforgettable Mother of the Bride Speech
The wedding breakfast was filled with conversation, laughter, and anticipation for the speeches – and they certainly didn’t disappoint. One standout moment of the entire day was the Mother of the Bride’s speech, which was nothing short of legendary.
Funny, heartfelt, and wonderfully detailed, the speech covered every chapter of Georgia’s life with warmth and honesty. The highlight? A comically long scroll that just kept unrolling, much to the delight of everyone in the room. It had guests laughing, wiping away tears, and applauding in equal measure.
These are the moments we love capturing as photographers – the reactions, the laughter, the emotional embraces that follow. It was a speech that will be talked about for years to come.

Golden Autumn Light and Romantic Portraits
October light is a gift, and Georgia and Dale’s wedding day made the most of it. As the afternoon softened into early evening, we stole some quiet time with the couple for portraits around Eshott Hall.
The surrounding grounds provided a stunning backdrop, with autumn tones and soft light creating a romantic, timeless feel. Georgia and Dale were completely natural together, allowing us to capture images that felt authentic and full of connection rather than posed or forced.
As a North East wedding photographer, this is always our aim – to create images that feel true to the couple and reflect how the day felt, not just how it looked.

Artistic Evening Photography: Backlighting and Sparklers
As the evening celebrations got underway, the atmosphere shifted into something truly magical. We ended the day with some artistic and creative shots, making full use of backlighting and sparklers.
Backlit images added drama and depth, while sparklers brought energy, movement, and a sense of celebration to the final photographs of the day. These moments felt like the perfect ending – joyful, creative, and full of life.
For couples who love something a little different, evening photography like this is a fantastic way to finish the story of their wedding day.
