Richard’s journey into wedding photography is a story of passion, risk, and family. Born and raised in Newcastle, he spent years in a career that didn’t fulfill him before discovering photography as a creative outlet. What started as a hobby quickly became an obsession—one that would eventually lead him to leave his job and pursue wedding photography full-time.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Richard’s career has been working alongside his family. His wife, Tracey, runs LUX Photo Booths, adding another layer of creativity to their wedding services. Meanwhile, his daughters Courtney and Ashleigh have followed in his footsteps—Courtney as a photographer and Ashleigh as a videographer.

One of Richard’s standout memories was Madison and Adrian’s wedding at Sparkford House in Somerset.
"It was one of the hottest days of the year, and by 2:30 AM, the entire wedding party—still in their formal wear—decided to cool off by jumping into the pool. The energy was electric, and the photos we captured were pure gold. That’s the kind of spontaneous joy I love to document."
Chapter 2: Courtney – The Artistic Storyteller
Growing Up with a Camera in Hand
Courtney’s journey into wedding photography began long before she picked up a professional camera. Growing up in a creative household, she was always drawing, painting, or experimenting with her dad’s camera. After studying fine art, she naturally transitioned into wedding photography—and now, at just 23, she’s already one of the most talented North East wedding photographers on the team.

This venue is pure magic," Courtney says. "Tucked away in the countryside, it has this intimate, fairy-tale vibe with chandeliers draped in greenery and huge windows overlooking the fields. Every wedding I’ve shot there has been breathtaking."
Most Memorable Wedding Moment
One of Courtney’s favourite moments was at Georgia and John’s wedding at Channels Estate.
"After a few drinks, the couple and their bridal party decided to do some ‘funny’ portraits—and let’s just say, things got wild. The groomsmen ended up carrying the groom like a king on their shoulders, and the resulting photos were hilarious. It’s those unplanned, joyful moments that make this job so special."
Chapter 3: Ross – The Master of Natural Light
From Landscapes to Love Stories
Ross’s path to wedding photography wasn’t traditional. Initially studying music, but with terrible stage fright at the time, it wasn’t a difficult decision that lead to 5 years of education studying to become a photographer, the thought of weddings never really entered the picture but rather landscapes was his passion that was until a request from a friend had him as a favour shooting his first wedding and that was it he was hooked, funny how the path your supposed to be on finds you!
"There’s something so powerful about documenting real, raw emotion," he says. "I love that my job lets me combine my passion for storytelling with my love of beautiful scenery."

Documentary & Natural – He captures weddings as they unfold, with minimal interference.
Landscape-Inspired – His background in nature photography means he excels at outdoor ceremonies and dramatic backdrops.

"This place is rustic perfection," Ross says. "A woodland ceremony, a serene lake for portraits, and a cozy barn for dancing—it’s the ideal mix of nature and romance."

Ross’s favourite moment wasn’t even at a wedding—it was an engagement shoot at Beadnell Bay.
"We timed it for sunset, and the sky exploded in golds and pinks. The couple waded into the water, laughing as the waves rolled in, and we captured some of my all-time favorite shots. Moments like that remind me why I love this job."

Ashleigh may be the youngest member of the team, but her talent is undeniable. With a background in content creation, she brings a fresh, modern approach to wedding videography.

"They ended the night with sparklers around a fire-lit fountain—it looked like something from a fantasy film. That’s the kind of moment I live for as a videographer."
